Steps

  1. Add Space Designer to a Track/Bus

For a send effect, create an Auxiliary track with a Bus input and select it. For an insert effect, select an individual audio track. In the Channel Strip Inspector (press 'I'), click an empty 'Audio FX' slot. Navigate to "Reverb" > "Space Designer" > "Stereo."

  2. Load a Preset Impulse Response

Open Space Designer's interface. Click the 'Factory' menu at the top to browse impulse response presets. Explore categories like 'Small Spaces,' 'Medium Spaces,' 'Large Spaces,' and 'Exterior' to find a suitable reverb tail. Double-click a preset to load it.

  3. Adjust Wet/Dry Mix and Predelay

For an insert effect, use the 'Mix' knob to blend the reverberated ('Wet') signal with the original ('Dry') signal. For a send effect, leave 'Mix' at 100% Wet and control the blend with the send knob. Adjust 'Predelay' to create a subtle gap before the reverb starts, allowing the source to stand out.

  4. Shape the Reverb Tail with EQ and Density

Utilize the built-in 'EQ' section to sculpt the tone of the reverb, cutting muddy lows or harsh highs. The 'Density' parameter affects the smoothness and richness of the reverb tail. Experiment with the 'Reverb Time' and 'Size' controls to further customize the spatial characteristics.
