Steps

  1. Insert Sample Delay Plugin

On the audio track where you need to adjust timing, open an empty Audio FX slot in the Smart Controls or Channel Strip Inspector and select 'Delay > Sample Delay'.

  2. Choose Delay Type

In the Sample Delay plugin, select either 'Samples' or 'Milliseconds' from the 'Delay' unit dropdown menu, depending on your preference for specifying the delay amount.

  3. Adjust Left and Right Delay

Use the 'Left' and 'Right' sliders or enter values in samples/milliseconds to apply independent delays to the left and right channels of your stereo signal. This is crucial for phase alignment or stereo widening.

  4. Monitor and Fine-Tune

Listen carefully to the effect of the delay while adjusting, especially when correcting phase issues between microphones. Zoom in on the waveform in the Tracks Area to visually confirm timing changes.
