Steps

  1. Insert Remix FX on Output or Track

Remix FX is designed for real-time manipulation, often on the Stereo Output channel. Go to the Stereo Output channel in the Mixer (Cmd-2), click an empty Audio FX slot, and select 'Multi Effects > Remix FX'. Alternatively, you can insert it on individual tracks.

  2. Choose an Effect Pad and Activate

Open the Remix FX plugin interface. You'll see an XY pad grid. Click on a specific effect pad (e.g., 'Filter', 'Stutter', 'Scratch', 'Loop') to activate it. Drag your mouse within the XY pad to control the parameters of that effect in real-time.

  3. Customize Effect Parameters

Below the XY pad grid, you'll find individual parameter controls for each selected effect. Adjust settings like 'Filter Cutoff', 'Stutter Rate', 'Loop Length', or 'Scratch Speed' to fine-tune the sound of the chosen effect. Use the 'Quantize' setting to snap effects to the beat.

  4. Record and Automate Remix FX

To capture your performance, ensure automation is enabled on the track (A) and hit record. Move your mouse on the XY pads and adjust parameters. You can also use Logic Remote on an iPad for tactile control, which is highly recommended for Remix FX.
