Steps
Create a Quick Sampler Track
In the Tracks Area, click the '+' button to add a new track. Select 'Software Instrument' and for the 'Instrument' slot, choose 'Sampler > Quick Sampler (Stereo)'. Click 'Create'. A Quick Sampler instance will load onto your new track.
Load a Sample into Quick Sampler
To load audio, simply drag an audio file from the Finder or the Logic Pro Project Browser directly onto the Quick Sampler UI. Quick Sampler offers three modes: 'Optimized' for general use, 'Classic' for single-layer samples, and 'Slice' for automatically chopping drums or loops into discrete playable pads. Choose 'Optimized' for most purposes, or 'Slice' for beat-making.
Edit Sample Parameters
Within the Quick Sampler interface, use the 'Zone' tab to adjust start/end points, loop points, and fade-ins/outs of your sample. The 'Filter', 'Amp', and 'Modulation' sections allow you to shape the sound further. If in 'Slice' mode, adjust slice markers and playback behaviors in the 'Slice' tab. Use the keyboard to audition your sample or slices.
Add Effects and Play
Route the Quick Sampler track to your desired mixer inserts to add Audio FX like EQ, compression, or reverb. Use your MIDI controller or on-screen keyboard to play your loaded and edited sample across different pitches or trigger individual slices if in 'Slice' mode.
