Steps

  1. Install AU Plugins

Most AU plugins automatically install into the correct system folders upon installation. Ensure the plugin's components are in 'Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components' for Logic Pro to recognize them.

  2. Rescan Audio Units

If a newly installed plugin doesn't appear, go to 'Logic Pro' > 'Settings' (or 'Preferences') > 'Plug-in Manager'. Click 'Full Audio Unit Reset' and then 'Scan Selection' to force Logic Pro to rescan your installed plugins.

  3. Insert AU Instrument or Effect

For an instrument plugin, create a Software Instrument Track. In the Inspector, click the 'Instrument' slot and navigate to 'AU Instruments' and select your desired plugin. For an effect, select an audio track, click an empty Audio FX slot, and choose from 'AU Audio Effects'.
