Steps

  1. Insert Note Repeater

On a Software Instrument track, click an empty MIDI FX slot in the Mixer or Inspector. Navigate to 'MIDI FX > Note Repeater' to load the plugin.

  2. Set Repeat Rate and Mode

In the Note Repeater interface, use the 'Rate' knob to set the rhythmic division for the repeats (e.g., 1/8, 1/16). Choose a 'Mode' like 'Repetition' for simple repeats or 'Arpeggiator' for ascending/descending patterns.

  3. Adjust Sustain and Gate

Control the duration of the repeated notes with the 'Sustain' parameter, and use 'Gate' to shorten or lengthen the MIDI gate before the next repeat. Experiment with these for varied rhythmic feels.

  4. Introduce Velocity and Pitch Variation

Utilize the 'Velocity Amount' and 'Velocity Curve' to add humanization or dynamic changes to each repeat. Employ 'Pitch Amount' and 'Steps' to create melodic arpeggios or descending/ascending pitch effects for your notes.
