Steps

  1. Create an ES2 Track

Add a new software instrument track (Track > New Software Instrument Track or Cmd + Option + S). In the Library or Inspector, navigate to 'Synthesizer > ES2' to load the plugin.

  2. Explore Oscillators

ES2 features three main oscillators. Use the triangular 'Vector Envelope' pad to blend between the oscillators. Experiment with different waveforms (sawtooth, square, triangle, sine) and detune them for thicker sounds.

  3. Shape Sound with Filters

Adjust the 'Filter' section parameters: 'Cutoff' controls the frequency at which the filter starts to affect the sound. 'Resonance' adds a peak at the cutoff frequency. Experiment with the different filter types and drive settings.

  4. Modulate with Envelopes and LFOs

Utilize the two Envelope Generators (EG1, EG2) and two LFOs to add movement. EG1 is typically routed to amplitude, but you can assign EG2 and LFOs to various parameters in the 'Router' section for dynamic sound shaping.
