Steps

  1. Insert Beat Breaker on a Track

Select an audio track containing rhythmic material, such as drums or a loop, in the Tracks area. In the Inspector panel ('I'), locate an empty Audio FX slot and choose 'Multi-Effects > Beat Breaker' from the plugin menu. This opens the Beat Breaker interface.

  2. Explore Presets and Slicing

Begin by browsing the factory presets by clicking the 'Factory Default' dropdown menu at the top of the plugin window. Listen to how different presets slice and re-arrange the audio. The main 'Grid' display visually shows how Beat Breaker is dividing your audio into segments.

  3. Manipulate Slices and Playback

Use the 'Playback Modes' at the bottom of the interface to control how slices are triggered (e.g., 'Normal,' 'Reverse,' 'Stutter'). Drag the 'Slice Start' and 'Slice End' markers on the waveform display to redefine the boundaries of each individual slice for more precise control.

  4. Apply FX and Modulation

Utilize the built-in effects section in Beat Breaker to add 'Filter,' 'Delay,' and 'Crush' to your processed audio. Experiment with the 'Mix' knob to blend the wet and dry signals, and use the 'Retrigger' and 'Gate' parameters for rhythmic gating and repetition effects.
