Steps

  1. Prepare an Audio File for IR Capture

Record a short, sharp audio transient (like a clap, gun shot, or sine sweep) in the space you want to capture. This serves as your impulse source.

  2. Open Impulse Response Utility

Outside of Logic Pro, navigate to 'Applications > Utilities' and open 'Impulse Response Utility'. This standalone application is used to create and manage IRs.

  3. Capture/Import Impulse Response

In the Impulse Response Utility, you can either 'Live Capture' an IR through your interface or 'Import' an existing audio file of your impulse. Follow the prompts for calibration and recording if capturing live.

  4. Export and Use in Space Designer

After capturing or importing, follow the Utility's instructions to process and save your custom IR. Once saved, it will be available in Logic Pro's Space Designer plugin under the 'User Impulse Responses' category for convolution reverb.
