Steps

  1. Load Slicex and a Sample

Open the Channel Rack, click 'Add' (the plus icon), and select 'Slicex' from the instrument list. Drag and drop any audio sample directly into the Slicex waveform display to load it for slicing.

  2. Detect Regions and Slices

Click the 'Region' menu in Slicex and select 'Detect Regions' to automatically identify slice points within your sample. You can choose different detection methods like 'Medium auto-slicing' or 'Sharp auto-slicing' to suit your sample's characteristics.

  3. Adjust and Refine Slices

Manually add, delete, or move slice markers directly in the waveform editor by right-clicking or dragging. Use the 'Articulation' parameters in the lower section to fine-tune each slice's attack, decay, and pitch for creative control.

  4. Trigger Slices in the Piano Roll

Open the Piano Roll for the Slicex channel by right-clicking the channel and selecting 'Piano roll'. Each slice corresponds to a MIDI note, allowing you to sequence and play your chopped samples directly.
