Steps
Use the Piano Roll Arpeggiator
Open the Piano Roll for your desired instrument. Input a chord, then press Alt+A to open the Arpeggiator tool. Adjust 'Range', 'Time Mul', and 'Gate' to generate various arpeggio patterns from your chord.
Apply Fruity Arpeggiator as an Effect
Add 'Fruity Arpeggiator' from the 'MIDI Out' section to the Channel Rack. Link it to your target instrument by setting the 'Port' number in the Fruity Arpeggiator and the 'MIDI Port' in your instrument's 'Channel Settings' to the same value.
Configure Fruity Arpeggiator Settings
In the Fruity Arpeggiator, select an 'Arpeggiation pattern' (e.g., Up, Down, Random). Adjust 'Range' for octave spread and 'Time' for speed. Input chords into the Fruity Arpeggiator's Piano Roll to hear the effect.
Automate Arpeggiator Parameters
Right-click on any knob in the Fruity Arpeggiator interface and select 'Create automation clip'. Draw automation directly in the Playlist to make your arpeggios evolve over time, changing speed, range, or pattern.
