Steps

  1. Insert Maximus on Your Master or Group Track

In FL Studio, add Maximus to the Master Mixer Track or a sub-mix group track where you want to apply multiband processing. Click an empty effect slot and choose 'Maximus' from the plugin list.

  2. Understand the Three Bands (Low, Mid, High)

Maximus separates audio into Low, Mid, and High frequency bands. Use the 'Low', 'Mid', and 'High' tabs to adjust compression, limiting, and gating independently for each frequency range. The crossover points can be adjusted visually.

  3. Adjust Compression and Limiting

Within each band's tab, use the 'COMP' and 'LIMIT' sections. Drag the compression curve handles to set the 'Threshold' and 'Ratio'. The 'Gain' knob boosts the output of each band, and the 'Post' section offers a final brick-wall limiter.

  4. Utilize the Master Section and Global Parameters

After individual band adjustments, use the 'Master' tab for overall glue and loudness. The 'Master Volume' fader and 'Master Limiter' are crucial for achieving final loudness without clipping. Experiment with 'Stereo separation' for width.
