Steps

  1. Insert Fruity Limiter into a Mixer Track

Open the Mixer (F9) and select the desired mixer track (often the Master track). In an empty effect slot, click and choose 'Fruity Limiter' from the 'Select effect' list. This adds the limiter plugin.

  2. Configure Limiter for Loudness

Switch to the 'Limiter' tab. Set 'Ceil' (Ceiling) to 0.0 dB for no clipping. Slowly increase the 'Gain' knob to raise the overall loudness of your track while the limiter prevents peaks from exceeding the ceiling.

  3. Apply Compression for Dynamic Control

Switch to the 'Comp' (Compressor) tab. Adjust 'Threshold' to determine when compression begins, 'Ratio' for the amount of gain reduction, 'Attack' for how fast it acts, and 'Release' for how long it holds.

  4. Utilize the Gate Function

Switch to the 'Gate' tab. Set 'Threshold' to eliminate unwanted noise below a certain level. Adjust 'Attack', 'Release', and 'Hold' to control how the gate opens and closes, cleaning up silent parts of your audio.
