Steps

  1. Connect Your Audio Interface

Ensure your audio interface is properly connected to your computer (USB, Thunderbolt, etc.) and its drivers are installed from the manufacturer's website.

  2. Open Audio Settings in FL Studio

Launch FL Studio. Go to 'Options' > 'Audio Settings' (or press F10 for System Settings, then click the audio icon).

  3. Select Your Audio Device

In the 'Device' dropdown menu, choose your audio interface's ASIO driver (e.g., 'Focusrite USB ASIO', 'ASIO4ALL v2' if you don't have a dedicated ASIO driver). ASIO provides the best performance.

  4. Adjust Buffer Length (Latency)

Click the 'Show ASIO panel' button next to the 'Device' dropdown. This opens your interface's control panel. Adjust the 'Buffer size' or 'Samples' setting. Lower buffer sizes reduce latency (delay) but increase CPU usage and risk of crackles. Start higher (e.g., 512 samples) and reduce if needed.

  5. Verify Input/Output Routing

Close the ASIO panel. Check the 'Input' and 'Output' dropdowns in the FL Studio Audio Settings to ensure your interface's inputs and outputs are correctly recognized and enabled.
