Steps
Add Drum Samples to the Channel Rack
Drag and drop your desired drum samples (e.g., kick, snare, hi-hat) from the Browser into the Channel Rack. Each sample will create a new Sampler channel. Alternatively, use the 'Add button (+)' at the bottom of the Channel Rack and select 'Sampler' to load a sample manually.
Sequence Drums in Step Sequencer
In the Channel Rack, left-click the steps (dark squares) next to each drum sound to activate them, building your drum pattern. Each step represents a 16th note by default. Right-click a step to delete it, or right-click and drag to quickly activate/deactivate multiple steps.
Fine-tune with Piano Roll
For more detailed control over velocity, roll patterns, or off-grid placement, right-click a drum channel in the Channel Rack and select 'Piano roll'. Here, you can draw in individual drum hits as notes and adjust their properties like velocity, pan, and pitch.
Assign to Mixer and Apply Effects
Assign each drum channel to a unique Mixer track by selecting the channel and setting its 'Track selector' in the Channel Settings to an empty Mixer track (e.g., 1-10). In the Mixer, add effects like 'Fruity Compressor' or 'Fruity Parametric EQ 2' to shape your drum sounds.
