Steps
Group Devices into an Audio Effect Rack
Select multiple audio effects or instruments on a track in Device View by Ctrl/Cmd + clicking them. Right-click on any selected device and choose 'Group' (Ctrl/Cmd + G) to place them inside an Audio Effect Rack or Instrument Rack.
Add Devices to a Chain
Once grouped into a Rack, you can drag new audio effects or instruments from Live's Browser directly into the Rack's Device View. Alternatively, drop them onto the chain zone when the 'Chain List' button is activated.
Create Parallel Chains
Click the 'Chain button' in the Rack's title bar to reveal the Chain List. Right-click in the Chain List and select 'Create Chain' to add a new parallel processing path, allowing different effects to process the same original signal independently.
Map Macros to Chain Parameters
Click the 'Macro' button in the Rack's title bar to reveal eight Macro Controls. Right-click on any parameter within a device in your chain and select 'Map to Macro X' to assign it to a Macro knob for easy and powerful control over multiple parameters simultaneously.
