Steps

  1. Select Export Range

In Arrangement View, click and drag to select the region of your project you want to export. This defines the start and end points of the exported audio. If nothing is selected, Live will export from the beginning of the project to the last MIDI/audio event.

  2. Open Export Audio/Video Dialog

Go to 'File > Export Audio/Video' (or use Shift+Ctrl+R / Shift+Cmd+R). This will open the Export Audio/Video dialog box where you configure your export settings.

  3. Configure Export Settings

In the dialog, choose 'Rendered Track' options: 'Master' for your full mixdown, 'All Individual Tracks' for stems, or 'Selected Tracks Only' if you've highlighted specific tracks. Set 'Render Start' and 'Render Length' which auto-populate from your selection. Choose your desired 'Sample Rate' (usually 44100 or 48000 Hz) and 'File Type' (e.g., WAV for uncompressed, MP3 for compressed).

  4. Adjust Quality and Dither

For 'WAV' or 'AIFF' files, select 'Bit Depth' (typically 24 bit for project and 16 bit for final release). If reducing bit depth, ensure 'Dither' is set to 'Triangular' or 'Noise Type 1' for optimal quality. Enable 'Normalize' if you want the exported audio to reach 0 dBFS peak automatically.

  5. Export Your Audio

Click the 'Export' button. You'll be prompted to choose a destination folder and filename. Live will then render the audio, showing a progress bar. Once complete, your exported audio file(s) will be available in the specified location.
