How to split a region in Logic Pro

Learn how to split audio and MIDI regions in Logic Pro quickly and efficiently. Perfect for editing and arranging your tracks.

Steps

  1. Select the Region to Split

    Click on the audio or MIDI region in the Tracks area that you want to split. It will highlight to indicate it is selected.

  2. Position the Playhead

    Move the playhead to the exact point where you want to split the region by clicking in the ruler or dragging the playhead.

  3. Use the Split Command

    Go to Edit > Split Regions at Playhead, or use the keyboard shortcut Command + T. The selected region will be divided into two separate regions at the playhead position.
