How to use automation clips in FL Studio?

Learn how to automate parameters using automation clips in FL Studio.

Steps

  1. Create an Automation Clip

    Right-click any knob or slider in FL Studio and choose Create automation clip. A new automation clip appears in the Playlist.

  2. Edit the Automation Curve

    In the Playlist, click on the automation clip to add control points. Right-click a point to change its curve type (smooth, single curve, hold, etc.).

  3. Link to Parameters

    You can also right-click a knob and choose Link to controller to map it to a MIDI controller or internal automation source.

  4. Copy Automation

    Hold Ctrl and drag the automation clip to duplicate it. Right-click and choose Make unique if you want independent control.
