Steps
Locate the Tempo Control
The main tempo control is prominently displayed in the upper-middle section of the FL Studio interface, usually labeled 'BPM'.
Adjust Tempo by Clicking and Dragging
Click and drag the numerical display of the BPM up or down to incrementally change the tempo. Watch the value update as you drag.
Enter Specific Tempo Value
For precise control, right-click on the BPM display and a small text box will appear. Type in your desired tempo (e.g., '128') and press Enter.
Tap Tempo (Optional)
While not a dedicated 'Tap Tempo' button, you can often synchronize to an external source by repeatedly clicking on the tempo display to get a rough estimate, then fine-tuning.
Understanding Tempo in Patterns
Changing the global tempo affects all patterns and audio clips in your project. Ensure your samples and loops are set to 'Stretch' or 'Auto' in their Channel Settings to account for tempo changes without pitch shifts.
