Steps
Load a Drum Rack
From the Browser, go to Instruments > Drum Rack and drag it onto a MIDI track. An empty Drum Rack with a pad grid appears in the Device View.
Add Samples to Pads
Drag audio samples from the Browser onto individual pads. Each pad plays a different sample and is assigned to a specific MIDI note. Pad C1 is the kick, D1 is the snare by convention, but you can assign any sound to any pad.
Layer Sounds
Click the Show/Hide Chain List button to see all chains. You can drop multiple samples onto the same pad to layer them, or use the chain list to add Simpler instances for more control.
Add Effects Per Pad
Click a pad to select it, then drag effects (like EQ, Compressor, Saturator) onto the Drum Rack device chain. Effects added here only affect that specific pad, not the entire kit.
Use the Built-in Mixer
Click the Show/Hide Mixer button in Drum Rack to reveal individual volume, pan, and send controls for each pad. This is very useful for balancing your drum mix.
