Steps

  1. Load an Orchestral Strings Instrument

Open the 'Packs' category in the Browser and navigate to 'Orchestral Strings'. Browse through the different instrument types like 'Violins', 'Cellos', or 'Full Strings' and drag a preset onto a MIDI track.

  2. Explore Playback Articulations

Many Orchestral Strings instruments include various articulations like 'Sustained', 'Pizzicato', or 'Staccato'. Switch between these using key switches (often indicated on the instrument's interface) or by selecting them in the device panel.

  3. Adjust Timbre with Macro Controls

Utilize the pre-mapped Macro Controls to quickly shape the sound. Common macros include 'Dynamics', 'Expression', 'Vibrato', or 'Room Amount' to alter the character and spatial positioning of the strings.

  4. Process with Built-in Effects

Examine the effects chain within the instrument rack for components like EQ, Compressor, or Reverb. Adjust these effects or add your own after the instrument to further blend the strings into your mix.
