Steps

  1. Initial Save (Save As...)

When creating a new project or saving for the first time, go to 'File' > 'Save As...' or use the shortcut Shift + Command + S.

  2. Choose Save Location

Navigate to your desired hard drive and folder. It's recommended to create a dedicated folder for all your music projects.

  3. Name Your Project

Give your project a clear and descriptive name that helps you identify its contents later.

  4. Select 'Save as: Folder'

In the Save dialog, ensure 'Save as:' is set to 'Folder'. This option creates a project folder containing the .logicx project file and subfolders for Audio Files, Bounces, etc. This is crucial for project portability and organization.

  5. Include Project Assets

Check the boxes for 'Audio Files', 'Sampler Instruments', 'Impulse Responses', and any other relevant assets. This consolidates all media into your project folder. Click 'Save'.

  6. Regular Saving (Save)

After the initial save, regularly press Command + S (File > Save) to save your progress incrementally. Logic Pro also has an Auto Save feature, but manual saves are still recommended.
