Steps

  1. Connect Your Footswitch

Connect your USB or MIDI-enabled footswitch to your Mac. Ensure it is recognized by the system (check 'Audio MIDI Setup' if needed) and sending MIDI messages.

  2. Open Controller Assignments

In Logic Pro, go to 'Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Controller Assignments...' (or press Shift-Option-K) to open the Controller Assignments window.

  3. Learn New Assignment

Click the 'Learn Mode' button at the top of the Controller Assignments window. Then, click the Logic Pro function you want to control (e.g., 'Record', 'Play/Stop') and press the desired footswitch pedal.

  4. Adjust Parameters (Optional)

After learning, you can adjust parameters like 'Min Value', 'Max Value', and 'Mode' for more precise control if your footswitch sends continuous controller (CC) messages rather than simple on/off.
