Exporting & Bouncing · advanced level

Steps

  1. Prepare Project for Export

Ensure all tracks are consolidated and free of unnecessary plugins that might not translate to other DAWs. It's often beneficial to bounce tracks in place if they have complex effects that need to be preserved.

  2. Initiate OMF/AAF Export

Navigate to 'File > Export > Project as OMF/AAF...' in the Logic Pro menu bar. This will open the export dialog where you can configure your export settings.

  3. Configure Export Settings

In the export dialog, choose your desired format (OMF or AAF). Select options such as 'Copy Audio Files' to embed the audio or 'Reference Audio Files' if the receiving application can link to them. You can also specify the audio file format (e.g., WAV, AIFF).

  4. Export the Project

Click 'Save' or 'Export' after configuring your settings and choose a destination on your hard drive. Logic Pro will then process and create the OMF or AAF file, typically alongside an audio folder.
