How to create aux tracks

Optimize your Logic Pro mixes by learning how to create and route aux tracks for send effects. Essential for efficient and high-quality reverb, delay, and more.

Steps

  1. Create an Auxiliary Track

In the Mixer window (Cmd + 2), click the '+' button at the bottom of the channel strips, or go to 'Track > New Tracks...' and select 'Auxiliary' as the track type. Alternatively, simply create a send on an existing track which will automatically create an aux.

  2. Route Send to Aux

On the track you want to send audio from, click an empty 'Sends' slot. Choose a 'Bus' number (e.g., 'Bus 1'). Logic Pro will automatically assign the input of an available Aux track to that Bus number.

  3. Add Effects to Aux

On the newly created (or existing) Aux track, insert your desired effect (e.g., Space Designer, Delay Designer) into an Audio FX slot. Use the send knob on the source track to control how much signal is sent to the Aux effect.
