Steps

  1. Locate the Tempo Display

In the Control Bar at the top of the Logic Pro window, look for the 'Tempo' display. It typically shows the BPM (Beats Per Minute) as a number like '120.00'.

  2. Change Master Tempo

Click directly on the Tempo display. A small dialog box will appear where you can type in a new BPM value. Press Enter to apply the new tempo to your entire project.

  3. Show Tempo Track

For more advanced tempo changes (like creating tempo automation), go to 'Track' > 'Show Global Tracks' (or press Option+G). In the Global Tracks area, click the small arrow next to 'Tempo' to reveal the Tempo track.

  4. Automate Tempo with Tempo Track

In the Tempo track, you can click to create tempo points. Drag these points up or down to change the tempo at specific sections of your song. You can also create ramps for gradual tempo changes. Right-click on a tempo point for more options like 'Set Tempo Value'.
