How to change key signature in Logic Pro

Learn how to change the key signature in Logic Pro to accurately transpose and manage your musical compositions.

Steps

  1. Open Global Tracks

    Go to Track > Global Tracks > Show Global Tracks or press G.

  2. Locate the Signature Track

    Find the Signature track in the Global Tracks area where you manage key and time signatures.

  3. Insert a New Key Signature

    Move the playhead to the desired position. Click the + button on the Signature track or Control-click and choose Create Key Signature.

  4. Select New Key

    Choose the desired Root note and Scale (Major, Minor) in the dialog, then click OK.

  5. Edit Existing Key Signature

    Double-click an existing key signature event to modify it. Drag it to change its position in the timeline.
