Steps

  1. Accessing Default Templates

When starting a new project, go to 'File' > 'New From Template'. You'll see a list of factory templates for different genres or starting points.

  2. Setting a Default Template

To have FL Studio always open with a specific template, go to 'Options' > 'General Settings' and under the 'Project' section, choose your preferred 'Default template'.

  3. Creating Your Own Custom Template

Set up a project with your frequently used instruments, mixer tracks, effects, and routing. This could include a drum rack, specific synths, and processing chains.

  4. Saving Your Custom Template

Once your custom project setup is complete, go to 'File' > 'Save as...'. Navigate to the 'Templates' folder within your FL Studio installation directory (e.g., 'Image-Line\FL Studio 21\Data\Templates\My Templates'). Save your .flp project here.

  5. Loading Your Custom Template

The next time you go to 'File' > 'New From Template', your saved custom template will appear under 'My Templates' (or the folder you saved it in), ready for quick loading.
