Steps

  1. Prepare Your Project for Export

Ensure your mix sounds balanced, all tracks are routed correctly, and there's no unwanted clipping. Check that your master fader is not going into the red (ideally peaking around -6dB to -3dB for a proper master).

  2. Open the Export Dialog

Go to 'File' > 'Export' > 'Wave file...' (for WAV) or 'MP3 file...' (for MP3). A new 'Rendering dialog' window will appear.

  3. Choose Export Range and Format

In the 'Status' section, select 'Playlist' for the entire arrangement or 'Playlist selection' if you've highlighted a specific part. Under 'Format', select 'WAV' or 'MP3'.

  4. Configure WAV Settings

For WAV, choose '16-bit int' or '24-bit int' (recommended for mixing/mastering). 'Resampling' quality should be set to '512-point sinc' or '256-point sinc' for best results. Ensure 'Trim PDC silence' is checked.

  5. Configure MP3 Settings

For MP3, set the 'Bit rate' to '320 kbps' for high quality, or a lower value if file size is a concern. Lower bit rates result in more compression and potential audio quality loss.

  6. Start Exporting

Choose an output folder, name your file, and click 'Save'. FL Studio will then begin rendering your project. Wait for the process to complete.
