Steps

  1. Save Project Regularly

In FL Studio, frequently use 'Ctrl+S' to quick-save your project as you work. For new projects, use 'File > Save as...' to name and specify the location for your .flp file.

  2. Save Project with Zipped Loop Package

To create a comprehensive backup that includes all samples and presets used in your project, go to 'File > Export > Zipped loop package...'. This will create a single .zip file containing your .flp and all associated media, making it easy to transfer or archive.

  3. Enable Auto-Save Functionality

Go to 'Options > File settings'. Under the 'Backup' section, ensure 'Backup project every' is enabled and set a suitable time interval (e.g., 5-10 minutes). FL Studio will automatically save recovery points to your backups folder.

  4. Locate Backup Files

If a project crashes or you need to revert to an earlier version, navigate to 'File > Revert to last backup' within FL Studio. Alternatively, manually browse to 'C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Image-Line\FL Studio\Projects\Backup' (Windows) or 'Macintosh HD/Users/YourUsername/Documents/Image-Line/FL Studio/Projects/Backup' (macOS) to find individual backup files.
