Steps

  1. Switch to Arrangement View

Press the Tab key to toggle between Session View and Arrangement View. The Arrangement View shows a traditional timeline from left to right.

  2. Navigate the Timeline

Use Ctrl+scroll (or pinch on trackpad) to zoom in and out horizontally. Scroll vertically to see all tracks. Press the Home key to jump to the beginning.

  3. Record into the Arrangement

Arm the desired tracks, press the global Record button, and play or perform. Audio and MIDI are recorded directly into the timeline.

  4. Arrange Clips on the Timeline

Drag clips from the Session View or Browser into the Arrangement. Cut (Cmd+E), copy, and paste clips to build your song structure with verses, choruses, and transitions.

  5. Use Locators for Song Sections

Right-click the timeline header and select 'Add Locator' to mark sections like Intro, Verse, Chorus. These help navigate large arrangements quickly.
