Go to File > New Live Set, or press Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on Mac). A blank session opens with default tracks based on your template settings.

  2. Set a Default Template

To customize what every new set starts with, set up tracks, instruments, and effects the way you like, then go to File > Save Live Set As Default Set. Every new set will now use this configuration.

  3. Open from the Browser

You can also double-click any .als file in the Ableton Browser under Places to open an existing set as a starting point for a new project.
