VYRE: getting started, presets, and packs
Set up the free VYRE sampler instrument, link your account, browse presets, install expansion packs, and use VYRE AI.
Plug-ins & VYRE: Installing AU and VST3 plug-ins, rescanning in your DAW, and using VYRE.
Steps
- On a Mac, install VYRE from Music-Prod Studio (sidebar ▸ Plugins). VYRE is a free sampler instrument for Mac (AU and VST3, macOS 12+, Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows (64-bit VST3, Windows 10 and 11). Its help pages are music-prod.com/vyre-help and music-prod.com/vyre-updates.
- VYRE needs a free Music-Prod account. To link VYRE to your account, approve the 8-character code VYRE shows at music-prod.com/vyre/link (or on the link page VYRE opens) within 15 minutes.
- Explore the 433 stock presets, the arpeggiator, the effects, and the built-in sidechain pump. Make sure VYRE Stock (free) is installed from the PACKS page inside VYRE.
- Expansion packs cost €20 each. Music-Prod+ members get 2 new packs a month, installed from the PACKS page inside VYRE.
- To change or make sounds with AI, open VYRE's AI page. CoProducer changes the loaded sound, finds library sounds, or makes a new sound with AI (about 50 credits); VYRE Sound AI turns a text prompt into knob changes. Both use AI credits.
- In CoProducer in Music-Prod Studio 2.0.74+ (Chat and Creative), "Make a VYRE preset" appears under an answer that describes sounds or recreating a track, or when you ask for a VYRE preset. CoProducer starts from one of your installed VYRE presets and changes a few knobs (2 to 6). Opening it checks the cost for free; "Make preset" spends the credits. The preset is saved in VYRE: open VYRE's preset browser and look under My Generated Presets.
Troubleshooting
"That code has expired. Generate a new one in the plugin."
The 8-character code expires after 15 minutes. Generate a new code in VYRE and approve it straight away in your browser.
"VYRE has no preset packs installed yet" when making a VYRE preset from CoProducer
Open VYRE, go to the PACKS page, and install VYRE Stock (free). If VYRE isn't installed on that Mac, the card offers "Install VYRE" (Studio ▸ Plugins) and "Copy prompt for VYRE's AI tab".
Checking if a new VYRE version is out
The INFO page in VYRE shows when a new version is out; see also music-prod.com/vyre-help and music-prod.com/vyre-updates. On a Mac, Music-Prod Studio also checks for plug-in updates.
