Getting started with Music-Prod Studio

Download, install, and sign in to Music-Prod Studio on an Apple-silicon Mac.

Music-Prod Studio: Downloading, updating, permissions, and the free Tools in the Mac app.

Steps

  1. Check that your Mac has Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and runs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Intel Macs are not supported by Studio.
  2. Open music-prod.com/studio and click "Download for Mac". Music-Prod Studio is free for Music-Prod accounts and is signed and notarized by Apple.
  3. If the download is a ZIP file, open the ZIP first, then drag Music-Prod Studio into your Applications folder.
  4. Open Music-Prod Studio from your Applications folder. Don't run it from Downloads or from the disk image.
  5. Click "Continue with Music-Prod.com" to sign in through your browser, finish signing in there, and choose "Return to Music-Prod Studio". Or enter your email address and open the sign-in link on the same Mac.
  6. Use the sidebar to open Home, CoProducer, Plugin Studio, Library (VYRE, Samples, My Samples, MIDI, Templates, Courses, My Plugins), or Workshop (Tools, Plugins).
  7. To change how Studio looks, open Settings ▸ General ▸ Theme and pick one of the 10 looks (Studio, Midnight, Graphite, Neon, Forest, Sunset, Vintage, Paper, Rosé, or High Contrast). Themes are free for everyone.

Troubleshooting

The "Return to Music-Prod Studio" link has expired

That link can be used once and expires after five minutes. Start signing in again from Music-Prod Studio.

Need to copy your exact Studio version or find crash logs

Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Version ▸ Copy copies the exact version (for example "Music-Prod Studio 2.0.74 (80)"). Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Logs and diagnostics ▸ Open Folder opens ~/Library/Application Support/Music-Prod Studio/Diagnostics, which holds crash and hang reports.

Want to sign out of Music-Prod Studio

Sign Out is in Account (in the sidebar footer) and in Settings ▸ Account & Membership.
