AI credits: what uses them, top-ups, and the monthly allowance

Steps

1. Open music-prod.com/credits to see your balance, this month's allowance, bought and bonus credits, recent usage, and purchases. (Music-Prod Studio also has Credits in its sidebar footer.)
2. AI credits are used by CoProducer (in Studio, on the web, and inside VYRE), VYRE Sound AI, Plugin Studio, and other AI features. 1 credit ≈ $0.008. Every CoProducer message uses at least 1 credit, and CoProducer and Plugin Studio charge five times the real AI cost. A Creative sound costs about 50 credits; removing Music-Prod branding from an exported plug-in costs 10,000 credits once per plug-in. The Help chat is free and never uses credits.
3. Music-Prod+ paid plans get 1,000 credits every calendar month, refilled on the 1st (the monthly allowance doesn't roll over). A trial has 100 credits for the whole trial; on the first payment, the balance goes up to 1,000 for the month. The yearly plan adds a one-time 10,000-credit bonus after the first paid yearly payment (valid 12 months). Lifetime members have no monthly allowance: their credits stay until used, and they can top up.
4. The monthly allowance is used first, then bought credits, soonest-expiring first.
5. Top-ups (members only) are on music-prod.com/credits, paid through Polar: $5 (+$0.50 fee) = 625 credits, $10 = 1,250, $20 = 2,500, $50 = 6,250, $100 = 13,750 (12,500 + 1,250 bonus). Bought and bonus credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. When you run out, you see "You're out of AI credits. Top up to keep going."

Troubleshooting

Studio shows "This could use a lot of credits" before a request

Studio asks before one request may use more than 625 credits (about $5): choose Continue or Stop. If your credits run out quickly, pick a cheaper model, such as CoProducer, or CoProducer Mini in Chat.

You paid for a top-up or membership, but your credits did not arrive or usage looks wrong

Open the Help chat at /help and ask to pass your conversation to the owner, who checks the credit ledger for your account.

Do Studio's Tools or failed Plugin Studio designs cost credits?

No. Studio's Tools (Workshop ▸ Tools) are free and run on your Mac. A Plugin Studio design that fails costs nothing, and nothing is charged for a detailed listen that fails.
