Splice has shaken up the sample marketplace by announcing a new "Splice Unlimited" tier that offers unlimited sample downloads for $29.99 per month, a significant shift from their traditional credit-based model.

The new tier gives producers unrestricted access to Splice's entire library of over 10 million samples, loops, and one-shots. Previously, even their highest tier limited users to 300 credits per month, which often wasn't enough for heavy producers.

What This Means for Producers

For producers who regularly download large quantities of samples, this represents significant savings. The unlimited tier also includes access to Splice's growing collection of preset packs and MIDI files, which were previously sold separately.

However, some independent sample pack creators have expressed concerns about how the new model will affect their royalty payments. Splice has stated that they're implementing a "pro-rata" payment model based on actual usage rather than a flat per-download rate.

The Splice Unlimited tier is available immediately, with existing subscribers able to upgrade from their current plan.
