KV331 Audio Releases SynthMaster 3 After Years of Development

It’s a great time for sound design enthusiasts! KV331 Audio has officially launched SynthMaster 3, the latest version of their flagship virtual synthesizer, following years of anticipation. Fans of the SynthMaster series have eagerly awaited the move from version 2.x to 3, and this release promises to deliver a wealth of powerful new features and improvements.

What’s New in SynthMaster 3?

One of the standout changes in SynthMaster 3 is its modular architecture, which provides unparalleled flexibility. Users can now work with up to 16 layers per plugin instance, and each layer includes 16 modules, 32 modulation sources, and six insert effects. This modular design means users can create incredibly complex sounds without switching between multiple plugins.

With this new version, 900 brand new factory presets are included to inspire your productions right out of the box. Not only that, but SynthMaster 3 can also load presets from SynthMaster One and SynthMaster 2, making it easy for long-time users to integrate their previous work.

Expanded Oscillators and Effects

On the synthesis side, SynthMaster 3 introduces several enhancements. There are now granular and VAnalog oscillator modules, alongside a revamped effects section that adds a waveshaper to the mix. Producers can also enjoy three new types of filters—phaser, formant, and comb—expanding the creative possibilities for shaping sound.

Oscillator unison is now available for basic, wavetable, granular, and VAnalog generators, bringing richer sound design potential. There are also new noise types to explore, giving users even more tonal variety.

Enhanced Sequencing and Modulation

KV331 has also added improvements to SynthMaster’s sequencing and modulation capabilities. Each of the 16 layers can now have separate arpeggiator/sequencer modules, along with per-step randomization. The KeyScaler feature from SynthMaster 2 has also been upgraded (now called Scaler) and is designed to offer more advanced control.

Additionally, MIDI output per layer is now an option, meaning users can route different sequences from each layer to various tracks in their DAW. This opens up endless opportunities for complex multi-layered compositions and modular setups.

More Customization with Editors and Views

SynthMaster 3 offers brand-new waveform, wavetable, and multisample editors, giving sound designers even more tools to craft custom patches. Users can switch between three types of views to edit parameters: single-layer view, multiple layers view, and a mix view, which provides access to both insert effects and send effects across layers.

Pricing and Availability

SynthMaster 3 is available now for $179, compatible with PC/Mac and supporting all major plugin formats, including VST, AU, and AAX. With its highly flexible modular architecture, enhanced synthesis tools, and expanded preset library, this release is set to be a must-have for producers looking for a comprehensive sound design powerhouse.
